Who, what and where...

Who is Redhill Shopmobility and what do we do?

Our Redhill Shopmobility is a local charity. Our registration number is 1165439 and we are located at the Belfry Shopping Centre. We did establish in the Belfry Shopping Centre in June 1997. The registration with the charity’s commission was done on 20th June 1997.

Our aim is to provide independence and support to our members and the public with fundamental mobility equipment.

At Redhill Shopmobility, we carry a range of mobility equipment to suit your needs. For intance, scooters, power chairs, electric and manual wheelchairs, rollators, crutches and walking sticks. You can hire these in three ways. In other words, they are available for short, medium or long-term use. With a little assistance, you may regain your independence and do most of the things you need to. For instance, you can have a much more relaxed shopping experience at Redhill town, with the correct mobility equipment.

In addition, we also offer for sale a wide range of daily living aids. We can greatly improve your home independence, with these extensive range of products. Above all, If we don’t have it, we can get it. If we can’t provide it, we’ll do our best to tell you who can!

Our fundamental goal is to bring mobility independence to all who have a need.

Can I buy mobility equipment?

Yes you can. Quite often it’s preferable to own your own equipment. Buying mobility equipment, gives one more scope to be independent. Because most places nowadays cater to everybody it will be easier to access shops and services. However, owning the right equipment, to serve your needs is probably more important. Here at Redhill Shopmobility, we endeavour to make sure our product is fit for purpose. If it is not, we have it back without question. Visit our New & Used Mobility Equipment, where you will find a range of Mobility equipment to suit your needs.

Our customer base is predominately local, however, we’ve seen our products go all over the UK and abroad. From Jersey, Spain, France, India, Pakistan, Ireland and a few countries in Africa. Many items can be supplied ex stock. Or generaly, within 7 days if we need to order them. For an additional charge, we can also deliver ex  supplier directly to you.

How do I become a member?

It’s simple – come in and sign up.

Naturally, there’s a process and the inevitable form to complete.

However, you do not need to be registered “disabled” to become a member. In addition, membership can be temporary or permanent. If you are recovering or recuperating or just out of puff – we are here for your needs.

Our membership stretches fairly wide. We boast that there is probably no comparable Shopmobility in a broad radius of Redhill. Our members are from as far afield as Scotland. How is the charity Funded

We are supported by The Belfry Shopping Centre, Sales, Subs, Fees and Donations.

However, the bulk of our funding is generated simply from the sale of donated, recycled, used and new products. The need for our services is evidenced by the patronage of REDSHOPMOB.

Service and Light Repairs

Nominal charges/donations are made for simple running repairs. Brake adjustments, ferrule replacement and the like, can be carried out at the shop. Battery changes, fundamental servicing and repair can be done in our workshop or on site.

We are affiliated to the NFSUK (National Federation of Shopmobility UK) which in turn is administered by BHTA  (British Healthcare Trades Association).
